2017 Junior Success

2017 saw further success for our Juniors Program, with the 15 Girls Division 1 Team winning the Top Four Cup for the second year in a row. The girls continue to be coached by senior players including Premier Goalkeeper Stacey Cavill and Premier Player and Juniors Coordinator Jess Lindquist.

We also encourage our girls to enhance their skills with Futsal. Three junior Angels: Felicity Lindquist, Keely Lindquist and Megan Grove represented WA in the AFA Futsal Nationals in 2016 and 2017 with Meg also being selected for the Australia Girls 14 UK touring team in 2016. After captaining the state team at the 2016 Nationals Meg topped off her year with the Medal for Best Player on Tour.

Following another Nationals competition for Meg and Felicity, both were selected to play for the Australian Futsal Team and tour Brazil. The girls are achieving great success in both Outdoor Football and Futsal and continue to be committed members of the club.

The Beginning

2014 saw the Beckenham Angels commit to a new junior development program with the introduction of two new teams, Girls Under 15, Division 2 (the "Fabulous Fifteens") and Girls Under 13, Division 2 (the "Angel Devils"). Both teams were made up of players with a mix of experience from those who were playing their first competitive games to those who have been playing for years.  Both teams were highly successful with the Fifteens winning the league Championship and the Top Four Cup, and the thirteens coming a close second in the league and qualifying for the Cup final only to lose on penalties.

Three of our 2014 juniors were selected to participate in the National Training Centre programme, Annabelle Leek and Thalia Organ from the Fifteens and Jade Inkster from the Thirteens. This is a great achievement and is testament to the talent and hard work of the girls as well as the dedication of their 2014 coaches Andrea Preiato, Lindsey Kenyon and Jess Lindquist (all members of our Premier team).

The program continued in 2015 and expanded in 2016 into four teams from 13 up to 17. The girls 15 Division 1 team was undefeated in the home and away season and were winners of both the Competition and the Top Four Cup.

JUNIORS

Our highly popular juniors program will be continuing in 2018. If you would like to play with the Angels in 2018 please register your interest at BASCJunior@hotmail.com and be sure to attend our first two Junior trial days on November 2nd and November 5th.

Our philosophy on junior football is simple, all teams are coached by experienced women players or senior qualified coaches with assistance from a woman player and with the on-going support of our the senior players. We seek to make practice and play both competitive and fun.
